The Miniature Bull Terrier Club of America's |
VAN HILDRIKHUSEN TROPHY SHOW |
A Competition for American Bred Miniature Bull Terriers |
There are four classes in the competition: |
Colored Dogs - White Dogs |
Colored Bitches - White Bitches |
This competition is open to qualified Miniature Bull
Terriers, which were bred and whelped on the North American continent, it's
offshore islands, or the State of Hawaii. Additionally, entered dogs must be
properly recorded (AKC, CKC, or Mexican KC "FICI") of a full and
non-probationary member of the Miniature Bull Terrier Club of America. |
THE VAN HILDRIKHUSEN TROPHY |
The Van Hildrikhusen Trophy is named for the Hildrik family of Lotte
Frank, donor of the trophy and the judge of the first competition held in
October of 1990 in Chicago, Illinois in conjunction with the MBTCA National
Specialty. The Van Hildrikhusen Trophy sculpted by German artist Hilda v.
Gerten Bosch, is a perpetual trophy and remains in the possession of the
MBTCA. The winner's name will be inscribed on the trophy and the winner will
be given a souvenir trophy donated by the MBTCA. |
Lotte's idea of creating the Van Hildrikhusen competition was to bring
together, at one time, at one place, North America's outstanding Miniature
Bull Terriers. Like at the Standard Bull Terrier's annual Silverwood
Competition, the Miniature Bull Terrier's virtues may also be assessed and
appropriately recognized. In this situation, breeders will have an
opportunity to view top Miniature Bull Terriers and to talk with breeders
from other sections of the country and the world. They will be able to
relate their own progress to the breed, and to make decisions concerning
future matings that should move the breed forward at an accelerated pace. It
is hoped through this event, better understanding an closer cooperation will
develop throughout the entire Miniature Bull Terrier fancy. |
The Runner-up Trophy is a ceramic figurine of a Miniature Bull
Terrier donated to the MBTCA by the Fort Dearborn Bull Terrier Club. This is
a perpetual trophy and remains in the possession of the MBTCA. The
runner-up's name will be inscribed on the base. |
The Best of Opposite Sex Trophy
is a walnut trophy carrying the MBTCA emblem, donated to the MBTCA by Terry
Martin and Linda Lethin. This too is a perpetual trophy and will have the
winners name inscribed |
Rosettes
will be awarded to the Van Hildrikhusen Winner, and to the runner-up and the
Best of Opposite Sex. Rosettes will also be awarded to the Best
Colored Dog and Bitch and to the Best White Dog and Bitch. Rosettes
will be awarded to the Reserve Colored Dog and Bitch and to the Reserve
White Dog and Bitch. |
